Kendrick Lamar has definitely taken "Control" over this situation.

The Compton-based rapper, who made headlines recently after calling out a number of big name MCs during his freestyle on the Big Sean track, has further proven that he is quickly dominating the rap game by earning himself 14 nominations for this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Lamar is the show's reigning Lyricist of the Year and his 2012 album good kid, m.A.A.d city, which recently sold more than 1 million units.

Drake came in right behind Kendrick with 13 nominations and J. Cole scored 10 nods.

For the first time, rap legend Snoop Dogg will host the show, which will be taped Sept. 28 at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center, and airing on Oct. 15.
