The "Skyscraper" singer turns 21 today and she's getting some b-day wishes from her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.
"I've been so proud of the strength & commitment you've gained 4 life, keep inspiring us all!" the 33-year-old actor tweeted earlier today. "Happy birthday my @ddlovato! With & by u always."
Meanwhile, the X Factor judge is celebrating her milestone birthday by giving back to others. Lovato is currently in Africa doing charity work with Toronto-based youth organization Free the Children.
"Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!! Having the best birthday ever in Africa with @freethechildren!!!" the birthday girl posted on Instagram today with a smiley photo of her looking cute while doing manual labor outdoors.
She also tweeted earlier this week, "Am I seriously in AFRICA right now?!!!?!??!?!"
