Take a look at what the guys do when they go back home

Sure, the guys of One Direction are international super stars, but once they each go back home, they're just regular teenagers—well, sort of.

Aside from being recognized by fans everywhere and receiving huge bags of fan mail (not an exaggeration), Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson are able to do normal things when go back to their hometowns.

And you see that in this exclusive sneak peek of their documentary This Is Us.

You may be surprised to know that a lot of these guys enjoy spending their free time doing the simplest things.

For example, Niall likes to cheer on the local sports team before going home to massive amounts of fan mail. Liam lies low at home while trying not to continuously get freaked out by his life-size cardboard cut-out in his room. Harry mows the lawn (yes, he actually does chores), but makes it seem a lot more fun than it actually is. And Zayn gets artistic in his designated graffiti room at his own home, because there's no way his mom would allow spray paint on the walls.

The documentary stirred up a bit of controversy last week after its premiere in London seemed to depict the band's fandom in a bad light, but Liam took to Twitter to reassure their admirers that the guys appreciate everything they do for them.

"Just so all of you know we love you guys and we know how dedicated you are and tbh we can't believe it that you gus spend all you time on us," he tweeted.

"We couldn't give a fuck what any documentary says there dramatised for entertainment and full of bullshit anyway we all know...... How hard you work for us and see it everyday at our shows, Let's all take a step back and think about what we/you have all achieved..."

This Is Us hits theaters in the U.S. on Aug. 30.
