If Hulk Hogan had his way, Chris Hemsworth would be trading Thor's mighty hammer for a body slam.

In an interview with Toronto's Cape Breton Post before heading north of the border for this weekend's Fan Expo Canada, the pro-wrestling legend was asked about who he'd like to see don the iconic mustache and play him in a big-screen biopic.

And aside from his son, Nick, whom he has previously said would be a good idea, Hogan couldn't resist suggesting the 30-year-old Aussie actor, particularly given the bulked up bod the latter sported for his Marvel-ous turn as the Norse god in 2011's Thor and last year's The Avengers.

"We need a serious actor that knows what he's doing. You know who I thought would be good? That guy that did that action movie, Thor," the Hogan Knows Best star told the paper.

Hogan also revealed just exactly where Hollywood was at with the purported project, saying development on it is in the extremely early stages.

"Two kids that are writers in L.A., two hot young writers, they did a four-page treatment and I'm telling you they nailed it—they nailed it like they were living in my shoes—and I gave them the green light to go ahead and write the first pass. But that's all it is," he said.

The grappler, real name Terry Bollea, elaborated: "First off, they've got wrestling in their blood, they were huge Hulk Hogan fans, so they followed not only the smoke and mirrors that you see on TV, but they followed personally what I was going through: the divorce, the car accident, all the drama, the eight back surgeries, the hip replacements, the knee replacements."

Before they can get a script finished and cameras rolling, locking in Hemsworth will no doubt prove harder than a Wrestlemania steel cage match, however.

That's because the latter's schedule is ramping up big time. Having wrapped production recently on Thor: The Dark World, the actor is now filming the action thriller, Cyber, for writer-director Michael Mann, after which he'll spend up much of 2014 working on the highly anticipated Avengers sequel.
