While Booth and Brennan both ended Bones' 8th season heartbroken, their real-life counterparts David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel were anything but serious during a photo shoot for the upcoming 9th season of their hit Fox series, premiering Sept. 16.
We're exclusively letting you behind the scenes of the publicity shoot, featuring Boreanaz, Deschanel and cast members Tamara Taylor, T.J. Thyne, Michaela Conlin and John Francis Daley having a whole lot of fun with props such as flowers, skeletons and skull balloons. After watching that behind-the-scenes video at their photo shoot, don't you just want to goof off with Bones' cast? And how adorable were Boreanaz and Deschanel taking a selfie?!
And it seems the good mood will transfer onscreen as well; though fans were left devastated after Brennan proposed to Booth in the season 8 closer only to see Booth abandon her after receiving a threat from the series' big bad Pelant, creator Hart Hanson had good news to share at Bones' Comic-Con panel back in July. "We're not fooling you, they will get married this season," he revealed. Huzzah!
But it probably won't be happening right away as executive producer Ian Toynton said season 9 will pick up 3 months after the finale. "The relationship between Brennan and Booth will be slightly different," he shared. "The relationship has been pushed to a different level, a different place. They're in a serious place."
Bones returns Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
