Katy Perry and John Mayer match up pretty equally as a couple, but musically speaking, it looks to be more of a one-way street.

That's because the "Part of Me" singer will make a guest appearance on the blues rocker's upcoming sixth studio album, Paradise valley, dropping on Aug. 20, according to Rolling Stone. While Mayer will not be popping up on Perry's highly anticipated Prism set, hitting stores on Oct. 13.

As for who exactly made that call, it's hard to say.

But Perry confirmed as much to E! News when asked about the possibility of her beau making a cameo, saying "He is not, actually. But thank you for asking."

Katy isn't the only hitmaker gracing Mayer's new record. Frank Ocean will also lend his pipes to a midtempo track titled "Who You Love" and a brief poetic ditty, "Wildfire," for which John released a lyric video.

For his part, Mayer is enthusiastic as ever about their budding love affair, going so far as to dedicate his romantic jam, "A Face to Call Home," to Perry at the Milwaukee launch last month of his Born & Raised Tour.

The crooner told the crowd his fellow Grammy winner "is more incredible than I ever thought" and reflected how she took the time "to get to know me and love me," especially supporting him after he underwent surgery to remove a granuloma from his vocal cords.

Now that Mayer has recovered from that ailment, which forced him off the road for 10 months, no doubt he's excited for the world to hear their duet.

As for Perry, she has remained mostly mum on their relationship, though she did unveil an unidentified new tune she wrote about John for a Vogue writer back in April.
