Let's call it a comeback!

It looks like Katherine Heigl is eyeing her return to primetime TV as the main role of a CIA drama.

The show, which is currently untitled, is being shopped around to the biggest networks and has gained serious interest. The series is written by Alexi Hawley, a supervising producer on Fox's new drama The Following, according to Deadline.

Heigl would reportedly take on the role of an adviser or communications liaison for the United States president, while the storylines would focus around CIA operations around the world.

The former Grey's Anatomy actress has been working on developing the project for a while now with Hawley and a group of senior CIA officials.

And while she's no stranger to wearing many hats, like actress and mother, it appears that Heigl will be gearing up to executive produce the show with her mother (and manager) Nancy Heigl.

Since leaving the hit ABC series, Heigl has appeared in a string of less-than-successful films and even a NyQuil Sleep-Aid commercial. But it appears that her career upswing may be just around the corner.

No word yet on when, or if, the show will hit the small screen, but we're certain that there are legions of Grey's fans who will flock to support their fave outspoken star!
