The 36-year-old Scandal star showed off her wedding ring Sunday at the Television Choice Awards' ABC/Disney summer press tour party. Washington, who secretly wed San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha earlier this summer, paired her impressive sparkler with an orange and white Giambattista Valli dress and Christian Louboutin pumps.
Sunday marked one of Washington's first public appearances since tying the knot with Asomugha, 32. The couple never publicly announced their engagement and have yet to speak publicly about their romance.
Washington's Django Unchained costar Jamie Foxx didn't score an invite, but that was probably a good thing. "It's good that she didn't because I would've blurted it out," he told E! News. "I think she did the right thing. She kept it quiet."
Washington keeps most things quiet when it comes to her private life. (She told E! News just last night, "I don't talk about my personal life.") She does, though, want to thank all the fans congratulating her and Asomugha on their "I dos," tweeting, "So... I just wanna say: its great being back & I LOVE reading all your tweets but...FYI I still dont talk about my personal life on here." She then added sweetly, "I seriously ❤ you guyz!"
Great fans, great gig, great hubby? Washington's doing pretty well for herself!
