Simon Cowell's pals are excited for his new role as a dad.
E! News caught up with America's Got Talent stars Heidi Klum, Nick Cannon and Howard Stern after the show's elimination last night, and each celeb has well wishes to send to Simon—who is a co-creator of the show—as he gears up for fatherhood.
"Well, congratulations, first of all. Very exciting news," Klum told us about Cowell's big announcement.
But when it came to giving the soon-to-be parent some advice, Heidi said she can't really do that. "I always think there is no real advice to give. I always think the child shows you the way. You know? You keep your eyes open, your ears open and then it's natural in a way. You just roll with it!"
She added, "I have four children and they showed me the way, they showed me what to do, they still do. They rule this house [snaps]."
Meanwhile, Cannon suggested a little get together and reassured the X Factor judge that his tot already has two besties.
"Hey Simon, let's have a little baby party together. We got you. My kids gonna look out for your kid," he said.
Stern, on the other hand, used the news to bring resolution to some of his unanswered questions.
"I guess congratulations," he said. "I was wondering why he never shows up on the set, he's like an executive producer of the show, now I know he's busy making kids."
Simon broke his silence on the baby news (well, kinda) for the first time today while at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Beverly Hills with his fellow X Factor cast and producers.
After a reporter asked if Cowell was as surprised about the news as everyone else was, the star joked, "I haven't read the newspapers. Am I missing something?" He then said, "Sorry. Unfortunately, I have to keep this private for the moment. It's just one of those things, but thank you anyway."
The reality judge is expecting a baby with New York City socialite Lauren Silverman, a source confirmed to E! News. However, the mom-to-be is still technically married to real-estate mogul Andrew Silverman, who happens to be a friend of Simon's.
Andrew Silverman has reportedly cited adultery in divorce papers he filed two weeks ago in New York City.
An insider told Us Weekly (who was first to report the baby news) that Lauren, 36, is "around 10 weeks along" in her pregnancy. She and Cowell, 53, reportedly "became close" as her marriage "deteriorated," adding, "Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while."
