Watch: Katy Perry "Blings" Out Her Grandma

Katy Perry had an absolutely adorable date to the Smurfs 2 premiere—and we're not talkin' about beau John Mayer.

The singer turned actress brought her sweet grandmother, Ann Hudson, to the red carpet event earlier today, and Hudson looked blingtastic as usual.

Perry's 92-year-old nana wore a bedazzled Smurfs T-shirt, which she admitted was Katy's choice. And that's when the celeb cut in and joked with her grandma by saying, "I'm the star!"

E! News asked Perry if she blings all of her grandmother's attire, and she quipped, "You know, if she requests it, with all of her incredible requests."

The pair clearly has a close relationship, especially after Grandma Ann jokingly told her granddaughter to "drop dead," which caused everyone to laugh.

"Grandma and I, it's always been a love-hate relationship," Perry cracked. "Just always at [each others'] neck."

This isn't the first time Katy chose grandma as her plus-one for an event.

The duo walked the red carpet together for the 2011 Grammy Awards, with Hudson wearing a matching Armani Privé gown as Perry, along with a bedazzled cane that Katy got her (of course).

Not many can rock rhinestones like Ann Hudson.
