Burger King Kids Meal

Burger King's slogan is "Have It Your Way." And apparently at least one B.K. employee seems to think that the way 4-year-olds want it is to get super, super stoned before indulging their Whopper munchies.

While the public face of the fast food industry continues to crumble before us (Wendy's workers are guzzling Frosty straight from the machine and McDonald's is allegedly serving glass now), a Michigan family found a marijuana pipe in their 4-year-old's kids meal box

For the record, Burger King is currently supposed to be shilling Jungle Book toys, not various drug paraphernalia (marijuana pipes for little boys! Dime baggies of cocaine for little girls! Etc.!)

The family was spending the day at Splash Universe Water Park in Dundee, Mich. when the young boy's grandfather went to the restaurant to pick up food, only to discover that French fries weren't the only side he received:

"He handed the kid's meal that he had gotten at Burger King to his 4-year-old grandson and when they opened it up they found a loaded marijuana pipe inside the kid's meal," Dundee Police Chief David Uhl told Toledo News Now

The boy's parents were "on top of it" and removed the piece before the 4-year-old to get to it. Police soon discovered that a 23-year-old employee had hidden the pipe in the meal box while he was at work. He was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

But there's more: The grandfather noted a "suspicious" car in the parking lot and wrote down the license plate number. The kids in the car, 18 and 20, turned out to be friends of the Burger King employee who attempted to warn him when cops were called in to handle the matter.

According to The Monroe News, when officers approached the car, the two friends ran into the woods. The officer, who got their phone number from the employee's phone, told them that if they didn't cooperate he would arrest them and tow their car. They returned and were charged with drug possession as well.

Burger King released the following statement (via The Huffington Post): "This Burger King restaurant is owned and operated by a franchisee who enforces a zero-tolerance drug policy. The franchise management team is cooperating fully with [police]. BKC and the franchisee extend a sincere apology to the guests involved in this unfortunate incident."

For those keeping track of recent fast food-related stories, here is a rundown:

Wendy's: A customer went off on a drive-thru employee for messing up his order, lamenting, "Is there cheese in hamburger? There's no cheese in hamburger!"

Taco Bell: An employee was fired after a photograph of him licking taco shells went viral (the genesis of this trend, it appears. The aforementioned Wendy's employee was also fired after the Frosty picture went viral).

Dunkin Donuts: A customer goes on a racist rant after not receiving a receipt, threatening to blow the restaurant up from Mars.

Golden Corral: Disgusting footage of the restaurant storing meat by a dumpster during a health inspection was uploaded to the Internet by an employee who warned people not to eat their food.

McDonald's: Served a Big Mac to Jennifer Aniston that made her "feel terrible."
