U.K. Moms Planning to Name Their Children After the Royal Baby, Leaving Newborns Nameless

Kate Middleton and Prince William better be putting a lot of thought into what name they will chose for the royal baby.

Why? Because tons of U.K. moms plan on naming their newborns after Will and Kate's little prince or princess!

According to U.K. shopping website Netvouchercodes.co.uk (via The Courant), a recent survey of 440 new moms are willing to leave their babies nameless while they wait for Kate to give birth and choose a royal moniker. Additionally, over 10 percent of those who participated are postponing picking a name so that their sons and daughters can share the same name as the royal baby.

In England, parents have a six-week grace period before they have to legally name their newborn children.

Meanwhile, according to a recent study conducted by www.vouchercodespro.co.uk, another U.K. money-saving website, over a fifth of parents to-be (22 percent to be exact) are planning of choosing a royal name for their unborn children. The study polled 2,109 expectant parents ages 18 and over. Of boys' names, Harry was the number one choice of parents (winning 22 precent) followed by William (16 percent) and Charles/Charlie (14 percent). James came in fourth and George came in fifth.

As for girls' names, 24 percent of expecting parents plan on naming their daughter Sophie, while 20 percent will name their little girl Kate after the Duchess of Cambridge herself. Elizabeth came in third, Sarah came in fourth and Victoria rounded out the top five.

As of almost two weeks ago, Coral bookmakers predicts Kate will give birth to a girl named Alexandra (but our readers seem to like the name Diana best!). They also predicted the baby would arrive July 17, weigh seven pounds and have brunette hair.

And just yesterday, royal bookies narrowed down their top picks of royal baby names to Alexandra, Charlotte, Elizabeth, George, James, Victoria, Diana, Isabella, Alice, Mary, Eleanor, Grace, Phillip, Alexander, Anne, Catherine/Kate, Charles, Frances, Louis, Alfred and Arthur.

For new parents waiting to name their children after the royal baby, one this is for sure: they won't have to wait too much longer as Kate is due any day now!
