You don't want to be late to the Dave Matthews concert—you might miss his performance of "Crash Into Me"! You especially don't want to be late to the Dave Matthews concert if you are Dave Matthews.

Which would have happened if a fan hadn't spotted him stranded on the side of the road.

Emily Kraus, a fan of Matthews since she was nine, and her boyfriend were on her way to Dave Matthew's concert in Hershey, Pa. when they saw the rocker on Boathouse Road, where he had gotten a flat tire while on a pre-show bike ride.

"So, we saw him on the other side of the road and we pulled my car [over]," Kraus told local CBS 21. "He says I've never seen a bike rack like this before, so [my boyfriend, Joe] walks over and he's helping him put it on and I'm standing here and I'm holding his helmet."

"His back tire popped, lucky for my parents just recently gave me their bike rack! SO amazing, incredible opportunity!" Kraus later wrote on Facebook. "He's such a humbled man, so grateful for our help (my boyfriend is the one who "spotted" him)!"

During the show, Matthews told the crowd, "I did not have a cell phone on the bicycle. So I thought, 'S---.' And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride on to the gig."

"We didn't know how to make conversation with him in fact, so we were talking about his tour and where he had come from," Kraus told CBS. "He had just been in Cincinnati and he said I'm taking a short break after this one because I have to drop my daughters off at camp."

Matthews thanked the couple by inviting them to dinner backstage and giving them front row tickets for the show. He also signed their concert tickets, "Thanks for the ride!"

"He did sing for me I'm still in awe! All the planets aligned last night—something greater then I'll ever be able to comprehend," she recalled the next day. "First time I've ever seen it in concert was last night - wow wow wow!!!"

She continued, "I woke up this morning, and I rolled over and I said, Okay yeah, that really happened yesterday ha ha ha ha!  It was surreal we couldn't believe it…My cheeks still hurt from smiling, giggling and laughing all night long."

Moral of the story: Always stop and pick up hitchhikers. Chances are, it's Dave Matthews.
