Jon Hamm Talks Justin Bieber: I'm Not Personally Affected by Anything He Does

Actor said that the singer stepping on Blackhawks logo was "bad news"

Jon Hamm is tellin' it like it is!

In a recent interview with ESPN, the Mad Men actor was quizzed about the latest controversy surrounding Justin Bieber and his Stanley Cup stunt.

When asked how he felt about Biebs' touching the trophy, he replied, "I'm not personally affected by anything Justin Bieber does."

Whoa! It appears that the singer's antics don't even register on the hunky TV star's radar.

And he didn't end there…

"But, well, he stepped on the logo—that was bad news," he added.

And Hamm did point out one important factoid about the teen heartthrob that justifies his personal views, saying, "He's Canadian! He should know these things!"

Hamm didn't rag on the Biebs too much, however, and cut him a little slack for the snafu.

"He may have just been caught up in the moment," he said.

Bieber originally caught major heat for posing with the Stanley Cup earlier this week in the Chicago Blackhawks locker room.

Hockey fans were enraged when he was seen touching the prestigious award in a twitpic.

"Who the hell let Bieber touch the Stanley Cup? #whyyy #contaminated," tweeted one Blackhawks fan.

Others examples of outrage include such tweets as, "Justin Bieber touched the stanley cup... I'm gonna go jump off a cliff now," "Justin Bieber taking a pic next to the Stanley Cup with a Blackhawks jersey that says his name on it is the biggest joke I've ever seen" and "Justin Bieber go to touch the Stanley Cup. Disgrace to the game, to Chicago, and to humanity in general."

Fans were also angered when another shot made its way around the Twitterverse showing Bieber snapping a photo of the cup while standing on the Blackhawks logo, a major no-no as it is considered a sign of disrespect.

A spokesman for the Chicago Blackhawks told E! News: "Bieber was very excited to see the Stanley Cup when he entered our locker room last night. As frequently happens with guests into our room, Justin inadvertantly stepped on the team logo on the floor but moved off quickly once immediately reminded. He was apologetic and understanding of the tradition but continued to take photos with the Cup and some young fans. He was extremely genuine and kind with his time. We appreciate his enthusiasm towards hockey and wish him well with the remainder of his tour."
