Yeah, we'd probably have the same reaction if we were gifted a guitar by John Mayer.

Julie Fermin's wildest dream came true at Rudy's Music Shop in New York City Friday when Katy Perry and John Mayer happened to pop into the store shortly after Fermin and her two friends.

According to salesperson Brad Tretola, the three pals were browsing the acoustic guitars when they became aware of the couple's presence and begin to squeal with excitement over their chance encounter with their music idols.

And after Tretola told Mayer he had a few fans in the shop, the "Gravity" singer casually joined in on the girl's conversation.

"Katy and John treated them so kindly, they were such sweethearts!" Tretola tells E! News. "Katy told one of the girls, ‘I love your earrings.'"

After the elated fans snapped a pic with the superstars, John asked if any of the girls played guitar, and Fermin told Mayer she did.

The aspiring musician then showed Mayer the acoustic guitar she'd been testing out and said she had to wait on her dad to see if they could afford the pricey piece.

John proceeded to look at the guitar, glance at the price tag and continue to chat a bit more before leaving, but little did Fermin know, he secretly purchased the guitar on his way out of the store.

Gordon French, the shop's manager, says Mayer paid as he was exiting the shop and politely asked him not to tell the girls until after he and Katy left.

Upon learning of Mayer's generous purchase, the girls began to scream and jump for joy over the extravagant gesture.

"John Mayer bought me this guitar! This is my guitar now!" Fermin squeals in the adorable video.

Tretola also noted how the guitar could have been worth $20 or $20,000, but it was John's simple gesture, and particularly the fact he did not want any recognition, that left Tretola in awe of the musician.
