Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg) continues to gush about his unlikely pal Miley Cyrus.
The 41-year-old rapper, who featured Cyrus on his recent song "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks," had nothing but nice words to say about working with the 20-year-old songstress when E! News caught up with him this week at an event for his new movie Turbo.
"It was beautiful," Snoop said exclusively of Cyrus. "I was working on my reggae album [Reincarnated] and I needed a special vocalist to come through and assist me on a song and she was willing, ready and able and came and did her part. We shot a video and it's history from there."
The video for "Ashtray and Heartbreaks" hit the web at the end of May, almost a month after the song came out.
As for Cyrus' edgier style, Snoop says she's just growing up and finding herself. "She's definitely doing her thing," he said. "She's finding her way, stepping off into womanhood. That's something that women have to go through. I'm supporting her and I'm down with her as her friend."
Just the other week, Cyrus returned the compliments when she stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about her new music and her BFF Snoop. "He comes by the studio, he listens to my music…and he's excited about what I'm doing with my career so it's cool," Miley said.
"We're more alike than you would think," she added (see getting high, per Miley). "We're very similar. He actually said that."
And two weeks before that, Snoop gushed to E! News exclusively, "Wow, Miley Cyrus, working with her was awesome. She was somebody who fit the record, she had the right energy, the right spirit, the right soul and it's just the right tone right now."
We can't wait for Miley and Snoop to record another song together! However, it probably won't be anytime too soon as Cyrus is currently on vacation in the Bahamas after her recent gig at the iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party in Miami. She was snapped taking photos with a fan who tweeted, "MILEY CYRUS IS IN HOPE TOWN AND I MET HER."
