The buxom beauty sent a happy birthday tweet to Frank Viola III, a former pro baseball player and current pal of Verlander, saying, "Happy birthday to one of my favorite people ever @FrankViola3 !!!!"
While the seemingly innocent tweet may have only teetered on violating bro code, this wasn't the original message the model sent to Viola.
Upton's first tweet to him included a semi-snarky e-card that read, "Happy birthday to a friend of a friend who I now like more than the original friend."
Well, that certainly says it all!
She has since deleted the image and kept her shout-out to Viola friendly and positive.
Verlander and Upton were rumored to have been dating after taking a romantic Caribbean vacation together over the New Year, but Upton swiftly debunked the reports during a Valentine's Day interview.

Upton was most recently spotted getting cozy with Clippers forward Blake Griffin at NYC hot spot Beauty & Essex earlier this week.
A source told E! News that the two "were cuddling and holding hands, although they were not seen making out. They seemed pretty cute together."
