Say it isn't so!

George Zimmer, the endearing bearded man who built the Men's Wearhouse brand with his unforgettable tagline, "You're going to like the way you look. I guarantee it," has officially been dismissed by the retail company.

The company's decision to oust the recognized face and voice of the chain store goes unexplained and clearly comes as a shock to both Zimmer and his loyal consumer fans near and far.

"Over the last 40 years, I have built MW into a multi-billion dollar company with amazing employees and loyal customers who value the products and service they receive at MW," Zimmer said in a statement to CNBC. "Over the past several months I have expressed my concerns to the Board about the direction the company is currently heading. Instead of fostering the kind of dialogue in the Boardroom that has in part contributed to our success, they Board has inappropriately chosen to silence my concerns through termination as an executive officer."

Ouch!

Hardly  the kind of treatment one might expect from an established company that started as a tiny Texas operation (peddling $10 slacks and $25 sports coats) out of Zimmer's minivan in the '70s—which has now grown to 1,143 stores nationwide.

George, we're on your side here! Here's to bigger and better things soon.

What do you think of George Zimmer's dismissal from Men's Wearhouse?
