Actor Johnny Depp is back on diaper duty in Paris.

The expatriate star of Blow and Sleepy Hollow has become a father for the second time, as companion Vanessa Paradis has given birth to a boy. Baby Jack John Christopher Depp III was born April 9 at the American Hospital in the Paris suburb of Neuilly, Paradis' agent confirmed.

Depp, 38, and Paradis, 29, already have one daughter together, Lily-Rose Melody Depp, born in May 1999.

Depp and the French-born actress have been together for several years, making their home in her native country after the actor said he wasn't comfortable living in the United States.

But in a 2000 interview with French Elle magazine, Depp said he wanted his first child to learn about both cultures.

"Obviously, French will be her native language," he said. "But it is important that she speaks English. I'd also like her to know my country, but I do not have any will for her to grow up in this country. You know, we've been too far in America. It's too nuts, too greedy, too much everything."

"I feel much better in this country," he added. "Of course, I do miss my family and my friends, but I can easily live without the American way of life."

Depp, whose credits include From Hell and Edward Scissorhands, recently appeared alongside Paradis in Lost in La Mancha, a documentary of Terry Gilliam's ill-fated film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.
