Jay-Z fans got a pleasant surprise tonight.

During halftime of the NBA Finals game between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat, Hov announced with a three-minute ad that he'll be dropping a new album titled Magna Carta Holy Grail July 4.

So what kind of sounds can we expect from the legendary rapper?

"The album is about, like this duality of how do you navigate through this whole thing—through success, through failures, through all this—and remain yourself," Jay-Z tells his collaborators in the clip, which include Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Swizz Beatz.

"We need to write new rules," he added.

And if you're a Samsung Galaxy Smartphone owner, there's an extra perk. Those with a Galaxy phone will be able to download an app on June 24 that will allow the first 1 million users to unlock Hov's 12th album for free on it's release date, July 4 at 12:01 a.m., 72 hours ahead of its general release.
