This is the Jennifer Lopez we know and love… No heavy eye shadows or contouring, just minimal makeup to show off her naturally beautiful face. With her hair back into a slicked back low ponytail, all we could focus on was the songstress's bright eyes and glowing skin.

Yes, we know we've been harsh with J.Lo in the past… but that's because she's made the mistake of piling on the greasepaint. When you've got a face like our J.Lo, the last thing you want to do is go for the dramatic contouring, concealing, and thick eye-closing makeup.

We know she was probably tempted to go dramatic for this black-tie event, but instead Ms. Lopez let her makeup complement her features and dress rather than upstaging them.

Get the Look: Make sure you start by giving your skin a mini-facial – exfoliating and applying a nourishing mask followed by a hydrating moisturizer and eye cream. Hint: Save time by applying the mask before getting in the shower.  The heat and steam from the shower will help the mask's active ingredients penetrate.

Next, apply a mattifying primer like Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-Hr Perfecting Primer to help your makeup last longer and prevent shine.  Follow with a buildable foundation that leaves a glowing, satin finish like NARS Sheer Glow Foundation.

Once your foundation is set, use a cream-based concealer under your eyes, around the nose, and to cover any other redness or blemishes.  Blend your concealer with your foundation by dampening a makeup sponge and blotting where you want to blend.

To mimic J.Lo's natural-looking eye makeup, apply a shimmering light pink eye shadow stick like Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Pink & Plenty to your lids and then draw a line along the lower lash line.  Use a smudger or a q-tip to soften the line and blend it into your lower lash line.

Then, line your upper lash line with a grey eyeliner pencil like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Smoke, and blend it into your lash line to give it a softer look. Next, apply 2-3 coats of your favorite volumizing mascara.

To get Jennifer's naturally flushed cheeks, apply a peachy blush like L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Blush, Precious Peach on the apples of your cheeks. Then, to really make your features pop, use a soft-focus highlighter like Benefit Watts Up! In Luminous Champagne along the top of your cheekbones, the center of your nose, and right above the cupid's bow of your mouth.

Finish off this natural look by applying a creamy pale pink lipstick like Korres Mango Butter Lipstick SPF 10 in Frost Pink – Pale Pink Shimmer. To ensure your makeup doesn't budge in the heat and humidity, spray your entire face with a finishing spray like Mary Kay Makeup Finishing Spray by Skindinävia.

Perhaps J.Lo read our last post on her and took it to heart.  She tossed the heavy makeup and gave us a look she knew we would love.  See, we're all about positive change here at Beauty Police.
