Despite growing up without much of a father figure in his life, Darius Rucker says he doesn't hold anything against his old man.

"He was just living his life, I guess. . . I'm not mad at him or anything. I thank him for teaching me what not to do because now I just want to be with my kids all the time," the country singer says in the new issue of Parade magazine. "I hope they always know they can ask, 'Dad, do you want to. . .?' And that my answer is 'Yes.'"

When he's not hanging out with his three children, daughters Daniela, 12, and Carey, 18, and son Jack, 8, the 47-year-old spends endless time on the golf course.

"Golf is the greatest but most maddening sport there is," he explains.

With Father's Day coming up on Sunday, it's an easy guess the former Hootie & the Blowfish singer will be spending most of his Sunday on the green. Find out the sweet birthday gift Darius Rucker's wife gave him after a  long day on the golf course at Parade.com.
