What is The Hills star protecting her frock from with this giant veil?

Did Lauren Conrad think her book signing was going to be outside? At a campground?

We just can't understand why the Infamous author's Zayan dress is covered by a layer of, what appears to be, mosquito netting. From what we can tell the cream and lace lace design underneath is lovely.

Maybe that's it? Maybe this reality star-turned-designer wanted to protect the dress from some unknown elements? Bugs? Bats? Rabid fans? Who knows!

For us, this look a swing and a miss for the typically chic star. Unless this really was meant to protect herself against messy fans. In which case, she should probably call it quits with the book signings.
