Joan River's always keeps it real.

Which is why when it comes to discussing birthday gifts, she's not going to sugar coat it.

"No gifts that disintegrate. No cake!" the 80-year-old said in an exclusive sit-down interview. "You have to get something that years later you can say 'Oh, I remember him! Pretty watch!"

Besides the sweets ban, the Fashion Police host isn't really a fan of celebrations either. "Birthdays are for children! It's nice to have a nice birthday, but if you have a nice life, it's just another wonderful day," she quipped. "My life is fabulous!"

We asked the star ahead of her birthday—which was Saturday—about her plans for ringing in the big 8-0, and she one thing in mind! "Work I hope!" she said when asked about how she wanted to celebrate. "I have been making a living at it for 46 year and that is what you celebrate. People go 'You work on your birthday?' and I say 'Yes! Lucky to work.'"
