Will Smith recently swung by Jimmy Kimmel Live, and the Hollywood megastar couldn't help but make light of the end of his box-office winning streak following the underwhelming performance of After Earth, costarring son Jaden.

"Here's how I think about it, Jimmy. Now let's be honest. Three is the new one," cracked Smith about the blockbuster's third-place opening last weekend, with an estimated $27 million haul that placed it behind Fast & Furious 6 and Now You See Me.

"That's really good news for me," quipped Kimmel.

"Yeah! Do you know how many ones it takes to make a three?" replied Smith. "Oh man, that was tragic."

Big Willie then drew on a boxing analogy to express his disappointment, apt considering he once played Muhammad Ali.

"I was sitting at home cause you know you get the information moment by moment, every hour somebody's calling. I was like, 'Uh-oh'…I felt like a fighter," Smith said. "It's been almost two decades since I had a movie that wasn't No. 1…That's over now, buddy! Thanks!"

In the wake of After Earth's failure, Smith has since suggested he might be moving away from big summer tentpoles to take more artistic risks with nonblockbuster stories.
