The Purge slashed away this week's box office competition.

Jason Blum's low-budget thriller, which stars Ethan Hawke and Game of Thrones' Lena Headey, took the No.1 spot at this weekend's box office with $36.4 million, ending Fast & Furious 6's two-week reign at the top.

Now You See Me also dropped a spot from its opening weekend, grabbing third in this weekend's box office with a close $19.5 million.
