Kerry Washington may have been the belle of the ball on the 2013 CFDA red carpet but there was one woman who stole the show inside: Hillary Clinton.

The Scandal star, clad in a lemon yellow satin Jason Wu gown, told us she completely understands why: "I've met Hillary. I think she's amazing. I think she's phenomenal and inspiring!"

Second to her excitement about the former Secretary of State, Kerry was also giddy about her job for the night. "I am presenting tonight," she said of announcing the Womenswear Designer of the Year. "It's like Best Picture!"

Adding: "It's a really fun! I  feel like it's really people who are driven towards excellence, or whatever their given field may be, coming together to support each other."
