No one can ever say P. Diddy's a scrooge--at least not when it comes to taking care of his kids.

Just in time for Christmas, the rap impresario otherwise known as Sean "Puffy" Combs on Wednesday settled a paternity lawsuit brought by model Kim Porter, the mother of his three-year-old son.

Putting the "Daddy" back in the Diddy, the hip-hopster agreed to increase the amount of child support for his son Christian Casey Combs. The rapper already pays Porter, 30, a court-mandated $11,000 a month in child support.

"I believe the matter is settled," Porter's attorney, Suzanne Bracker, told hearing examiner David Kirshblum in the Manhattan Family Court.

Although Bracker described the settlement as worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $4.5 million, Combs camp disputed the amount as "totally unfounded and inaccurate." Bracker later said her comments were taken out of context.

In a statement, the 31-year-old Puffster, who was not in court for the hearing (he was apparently still in Vegas where he presented at the Billboard Music Awards), termed the deal "amicable" but wound not disclose any hard figures.

"The terms of the settlement are private," he said. "The welfare of my children is always my first priority, and whatever I have, they have."

Combs will have to pay the child support until Christian turns 21.

In addition to his Bad Boy hip-hop empire, Combs reportedly earns millions off his clothing line and several New York City restaurants that he owns.

He also provides for another son, six-year-old Justin, whom he had with hip-hop fashion stylist Misa Hylton-Brim, of Mount Vernon, New York. Combs currently pays her $5,000 a month in child support.

Combs was expected to sign the agreement with Porter by Friday. A follow-up hearing has been set for March 4.
