OK, Michael Douglas, you have our attention.

The actor made a surprising statement while giving a (very) candid interview with the U.K.'s Guardian in reference to his throat cancer.

When asked whether or not he now regretted his years of smoking and drinking, which are usual causes of such a disease, the celeb replied, "No. Because without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV [human papillomavirus], which actually comes about from cunnilingus."

The Behind the Candelabra star went on to say, "I did worry if the stress caused by my son's incarceration didn't help trigger it. But yeah, it's a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer. And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it."

However, Douglas' rep tells E! News, "He did not say this was the cause of his cancer. In a discussion of oral cancer, he said this is one of the suspected causes. He never made it personal."

Regardless, Dr. Drew Pinsky praised the actor (who has now been cancer free for two years after successful treatment) for what he said during the interview, tweeting, "Very courageous, will help reduce the risk for others."

And that concludes your impromptu sex-ed class for the night.
