So it made complete sense that the "Control" singer turned up in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday to watch the wrongful death trial concerning her family's lawsuit against promoter AEG Live.
A judge previously ruled that only two members of the Jackson clan can attend the proceedings at one time to avoid biasing the jury towards the family since many of them are potential witnesses. As a result, Michael's octogenarian mom, Katherine Jackson, has been the one to go since she brought the legal action.
On this day however, instead of being accompanied by older daughter Rebbie, the matriarch was joined by Janet, who reportedly wore a black trench coat, dark slacks with her curly hair tied back in a pony tail. The pair sat in the front row awaiting testimony by AEG Live co-CEO Paul Gongaware.
Per the New York Daily News, however, AEG attorneys immediately objected to Jackson's appearance on the grounds that two family members on the witness list shouldn't be allowed to sit in the gallery at the same time. But since the prior ruling permitted Katherine to have a relative by her side, she was allowed to stay.
Janet Jackson was recently named by Variety to its billion-dollar club, joining the ranks of fellow entertainers like Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg.
