Is Community's captain returning to the helm in season five?

During a recording of his Harmontown podcast on Sunday night, creator Dan Harmon, who was fired from the series before season four, revealed that he has been extended an invitation to return for Community's fifth season, according to Hollywookiee.com, who had a staffer present at the event.

And after spilling the big news, Harmon reportedly asked the editors to remove the slip, before saying, "Ah, f--k it. I don't care who knows!"

Harmon was fired by Sony a little over a year ago and posted a message on Tumblr about his exit, saying, "Why'd Sony want me gone? I can't answer that because I've been in as much contact with them as you have…Their reasons for replacing me are clearly none of my business."

Happy Endings writers David Guarascio and Moses Port replaced Harmon for the cult hit's fourth season, which bowed out with 3 million viewers for its finale.

Community's fifth season is expected to return to NBC's schedule at midseason.
