Catherine Zeta-Jones got the help she needed.

In late April, the Side Effects star checked herself into treatment for her bipolar II disorder. And on Tuesday, Michael Douglas' love is expected to be released from treatment, the actor tells  People.

"Catherine has proactively checked into a health care facility," Zeta-Jones' rep said in a statement last month. "Previously Catherine has said that she is committed to periodic care in order to manage her health in an optimum manner."

The 43-year-old Oscar winner first sought treatment for bipolar disorder in April 2011. Afterwards, she candidly opened up about her struggle. "This is a disorder that affects millions of people, and I am one of them," she told People. "If my revelation of having bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it…There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help."

Wise words. We're glad she's being proactive about her health and sharing her story to help others.
