What do you do when monsters rise from the sea?

You marry man and machine and unleash the robots, of course!

The official main trailer for Pacific Rim, Guillermo del Toro's upcoming sci-fi action thriller, was released today and—as previous glimpses of the impossibly high-tech film have already promised—it looks to make for a rip-roaring time at the multiplex this summer.

Sons of Anarchy hunk Charlie Hunnam stars as one-half of an attached-at-the-mind duo charged with piloting the massive machines built to take on the kaiju invaders from beneath the Pacific and "cancel the apocalypse."

Rinko Kikuchi plays Hunnam's partner and Charlie Day, Idris Elba and Ron Perlman also star.

"I wanted to have a lot of crazy rain, wind, all the drama of an Emily Brontë movie in a high-tech movie," del Toro previously told the L.A. Times. (We knew we got the sudden urge to read Wuthering Heights from somewhere...)

Pacific Rim hits theaters July 12.
