It sounds like Carrie Underwood has the full support of former Sunday Night Football theme song singer Faith Hill!

Hill, who announced she was giving up her football crooner duties one month ago, took to Twitter to praise the American Idol winner on taking over her sports song gig.

"Congrats to Carrie!!" Hill tweeted yesterday. "An awesome choice by the guys at NBC/SNF. She'll rock it!!"

NBC PR tweeted out the news yesterday, writing, "We'd like to welcome @carrieunderwood to the #SNF family! She'll be singing the SNF Open."

Underwood gushed of the new singing gig on Twitter, "I am so excited to be a part of Sunday Night Football!!! I've been a football fan my entire life...We're going to have so much fun!"

Underwood's version of the tune "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" will make its debut on Sunday, Sept. 8, when the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants.
