Does Bradley Cooper's new 'do mark a vengeful return of the perm?

Er, not so fast. Thankfully for us, his tight and tacky curls were only for his role in the 1970s-era FBI drama America Hustle. 

While filming the latest project in Boston on Tuesday, the actor was snapped in full character, donning a vintage a camel coat, aviators, brown slacks and those oh-so-flattering curls.

If this new style cracks you up, you have obviously not seen what it takes to get his hair there.  Earlier this year, the star was snapped with a full bed of pink rollers in his lovely locks. 

"Oh, yeah bro, like rollers in the hair!" the Silver Linings Playbook Oscar nominee exclusively told E! News' Marc Malkin of the perm process.

What a good sport.
