When it comes to saving bubble shows from the cold clutches of cancellation, TV fans do not mess around.

Hundreds of thousands of fans showed up to compete in our annual Save One Show competition, until we were down to two shows left standing and one show voted in with a wild card round. ABC's Body of Proof, NBC's Deception and NBC's Smash were the final three bubble series fans were voting to save, and the show that came out on top is...

Smash! Break out the Broadway tunes and stage some dance numbers, because Smash fans showed up big time for their endangered series.

"We're thrilled and honored to win Save One Show," showrunner Joshua Safran tells us. "We love our fans and are extremely grateful for their incredible support!"

Smash's move to Saturday nights was a devastating blow to fans, as that night is often referred to in the television business as the "death slot." And with Debra Messing being cast on a CBS pilot and rumors that Katharine McPhee had already jumped ship, things were not looking good for the once-promising series.

However, you fans refuse to give up on your beloved show, and you bet your bottom dollar we will be rallying for Smash on E! News, as well as taking this win right to the network so they see what you guys have been up to.

Debra Messing told us that there was still hope for a season three while filming the last couple of episodes, and she would without a doubt return if Smash was renewed. "If we come back for a season three, I'm sure that the creative discussions have yet to be had about what that season three would look like," she said. "CBS was wonderful enough to allow me to do this in second position, so they know that if Smash comes back, that's where I will be."

Congrats to Smash fans, and congrats to the other tremendous fan bases for the overwhelming turnout for this year's Save One Show competition! Keep your fingers crossed for your favorite series, and we will see you at Upfronts for all the big announcements in a couple weeks!
