Julia Louis-Dreyfus isn't the real vice president of the United States, but she plays one on TV!
And recently, the Veep star got to hang out with the real second-in-command, Joe Biden. On Thursday, the actress dropped by Conan to recount her comical hangout session with good ol' Joe.
"It was so much fun! He's such a wonderful man," she gushed to Conan O'Brien. "He's so affable and charming. It was incredible. We have lunch together, and he was trying to be funny…"
Yes, Joe Biden tried his hand at comedy. Julia recalled, "He says, 'Hey, does your husband like to sleep with the vice president, because I'm trying to convince Jill it's a good idea!"
"It's racy but he didn't mean it in a racy way," she explained. "He was just being funny."
And Joe wanted to make the day memorable for his small-screen counterpart. So when the twosome took a ride in the V.P.'s motorcade, he took matters into his own hands.
"I had my phone, and so he took a picture of us," Julia recalled. "It's him taking it with my phone! It's a selfie, that's what I meant!"
She showed the pic to Conan, then asked laughingly, "Isn't that neat?"
