Sometimes a mother is the last to know.

Cher joined her mother Georgia Holt and half-sister Georganne LaPiere on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday and talked about Chaz Bono's coming out of the closet and weight loss journey.

When the TV show host mentioned how much weight Bono has lost, Cher's face lit up and said, "Yes, and working really hard on it, too." The ladies revealed that when Bono came out of the closet, Cher "was the last" to know.

"It's true, go figure," she quipped.

So who did Bono decide to come out to first? Her grandmother, Georgia. DeGeneres replied, "That's a big deal to come out to the grandmother."

Indeed it is!
