Happy birthday, Willie Nelson!
The famous country singer turns 80 today and received a special birthday message from his biggest fan, none other than Jessica Simpson. "Happy 80th birthday to one of the loves of my life @willienelson," she tweeted.
Nelson made sure to honor his special day with a hilarious skit on Monday night's Conan, in which he jokingly auditioned for Ian McKellen's role in The Hobbit part 2
Decked out in a Gandalf costume in an "audition reel," Nelson puts his own spin on a few of the wizard's most famous lines, for example changing "You shall not pass" to "You shall not pass… an unlit joint. Man, that's just not cool."
"You can hire me and fire that Ian McKellen guy," he concludes. "He's a good actor but, hell—I'm Willie Nelson."
