"I don't know why lately I've been getting so much flack for it," she told Extra on Saturday at the Radio Disney Music Awards, a few days after new photos of her prompted a hefty amount of Internet buzz.
"I have a very healthy lifestyle and I'm busy," the mother of three explained. "I have a daughter who's almost 2 that I carry all the time. She's just under 30 pounds."
A source agreed last week that the concerns about Richards weight were being blown entirely out of proportion.
"Everything is fine with Denise. Nothing is wrong," the insider told E! News. "Denise is taking care of her daughters, her dogs and filming her new show. Look at her arms. She is ripped. She carries baby Eloise everywhere."
Richards is also mom to school-age daughters Sam, 9, and Lola, 7, with ex Charlie Sheen.
The 42-year-old actress was just spotted picking up groceries in L.A.—and looking perfectly lovely, we might add.
Proving that she's also got a sense of humor, Richards posted an Instagram pic earlier today of a donut covered in rainbow sprinkles on the set of her new show, Twisted, along with the caption: "Yum! And yes I ate it....#craftservice #junkfoodonset."
