Jason Aldean and his wife, Jessica, have admitted that their marriage "hasn't always been roses," but have they decided to call the whole thing off?

"Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time," Aldean's rep told E! News Thursday in response to a report that they had separated after 11 years of marriage.

"It's a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way."

Aldean was caught kissing former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr back in September and he and Jessica had been trying to power through the ensuing scandal.

The country singer copped to his mistake and issued a public apology shortly afterward. "The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar," he said. "I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys."

The couple's first post-scandal public appearance was at the 2012 CMA Awards—and Aldean seemed optimistic about their future together.

"I think we're fine. I think anytime you go through anything like that—I mean, it's tough," the singer told CBS This Morning in November. "We've been together for a long time and through a lot of things together. Those are things that most people get to deal with in private, but we didn't have the luxury of doing that."

He and Jessica have two daughters together.
