Would you book another trip to New Orleans?

That is the question for fans of The Vampire Diaries after tonight's shocking episode, which served as a backdoor pilot for The Originals spinoff, which centers on fan favorite Original siblings Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) stirring up trouble in The Big Easy, a supernatural empire that Klaus helped create back in the day.

And though Klaus heading back to New Orleans intent on destroying a coven of witches looking to destroy him, he got more than he bargained for when he ran into werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin)! Plus, we met (and swooned over) new characters that we'll be spending a lot of time with should the CW pick up The Originals to series...

Silly viewers, don't you know loopholes are for hybrids?!

In one crazy doozy of a twist, it turns out Klaus and Hayley's one-night stand has led to an unplanned pregnancy! Lesson? Even if you're undead, you gotta use protection! What's that sound you hear? It's the sound of Klaus and Caroline (Candice Accola) fans everywhere plotting their riot! (They do get an awesome moment when Klaus calls Caroline, saying, "I'm standing in one of my favorite places in the world, and all I can think about is how I want to show it to you. Maybe one day, you'll let me." Please take this moment to swoon before continuing the ride. Thank you.)

Klaus doesn't take too well to the baby news a first (no celebratory cigars for him!), asking the witches to kill Hayley and the unborn child. Fortunately, Elijah is able to change his bro's mind. After all, what's a king without an "heir"?

Aside from helping Klaus work through his baby issues, Elijah also made a big move during the hour, ending things with Katherine (Nina Dobrev) once and for all. So it's totally like when people on The Real World break up with their significant other before their season. Dude needs options, not strings, if The Originals goes to series!

And can we take a moment to discuss how freakin' hot Klaus' protégé/new king of New Orleans Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) is?!

We'd love to watch Klaus and Marcel engage in their own Game of Thrones-esque war for title of New Orleans' supernatural king, wouldn't you?!
