What's your favorite scary TV show?!

MTV officially announced that they are moving forward with a pilot based on Scream, The Following creator Kevin Williamson's hugely popular horror film franchise at their Upfront presentation in New York City on Thursday.

Yes, it seems like we're going back to Woodsboro, people, just without Williamson along for the ride, but the network is trying to bring back one original member of the Scream family…

In a press release issued by MTV, the network notes that Dimension Films is currently in discussions with the franchise's original director Wes Craven to direct the pilot.

Various writers are currently meeting with the network and studio for the potential series, which MTV hopes to unleash in summer 2014.

The one-hour project will reinvent the "the successful horror comedy franchise," the release states.

This isn't the first time MTV has revived a cult favorite franchise: Teen Wolf is one of the net's top-rated series.
