The 2013 Cannes Film Festival is cranking up the star wattage.

Festival organizers announced Wednesday that Nicole Kidman, Ang Lee and Christoph Waltz have been named to this year's prestigious jury, bringing a considerable Hollywood sheen to the venerable European cinema fête.

They'll be joining jury president Steven Spielberg, who'll oversee a nine-member panel that includes We Need to Talk About Kevin helmer Lynne Ramsay, Bollywood star Vidya Balan, esteemed French actor Daniel Auteuil and Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu, whose abortion-themed 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days won the Palme d'Or in 2007.

This year's jury represents one of the more Hollywood-centric lineups in years: Collectively, Spielberg, Kidman, Lee and Waltz have amassed a total of nine Oscars.

They'll be judging a slate of films with an equally strong showing from the Tinseltown contingent: Film scheduled to be screened include Steven Soderbergh's Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra, Joel and Ethan Coen's folk-music-themed Inside Llewyn Davis, and Sofia Coppola's Hollywood heist cautionary tale Bling Ring.

The fest will kick off with a splashy screening of Baz Luhrmann's slick redo of The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.

Star wattage, indeed.
