Kate Hudson celebrates her 34th birthday today, and though the youthful-looking star may not look like she's in her thirties, she definitely has the self-assuredness that often comes with age! And her confidence is no more apparent than in her sleek signature style, which only seems to get more chic with every passing year.
So, just how does the beautiful birthday gal manage to look so effortlessly pulled together, whether she's running about town with her two boys or hitting the red carpet with her man, Matthew Bellamy? We caught up with Hudson before she hit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation's Hot Pink Party on Wednesday to grill her on her style secrets.
And as it turns out, she has a couple of fave tricks that have never failed her.
"If I'm running out the door, it's a dress, whether it's with boots or sandals or flip-flops, a sweater—even if it's cold," Hudson dished about her number one go-to garment.
There's no doubt the red carpet veteran knows how to pick a good gown, but what does she look for when going glam is a must?
"I wear a lot of white," she revealed, citing a backless Pucci number that she wore to the 2010 SAG awards as one of her all-time favorite looks.
But there's one thing she values more than her preferred color or garment: comfort.
"I've had people push dresses on me that are high-fashion, but if I can't walk or I'm uncomfortable, forget it," she told us. "Women need to wear things they are comfortable and confident in."
