No amount of star power could ease Boston's suffering right now.

But a kindhearted hospital visit from Bradley Cooper and New England Patriots player Julian Edelman was a welcome distraction to Jeffrey Bauman Jr., who lost both legs in Monday's horrific marathon explosions.

In a photo tweeted by Edelman Thursday, Bauman holds a football and gives a thumbs-up from his hospital bed. The NFL star and Cooper beam on either side of the survivor, along with an unidentified woman and uniformed man.

"Visited #survivor #stud #hero Jeffrey Bauman Jr. today," the football hunk wrote. "He was looking great and is a true inspiration. #strong."

"It was a very humbling experience. We talked a little football," Edelman told E! News. "I learned that he is a tough guy and has a very close strong family. He is a true inspiration."

" I don't want the focus to be on me," he added. "It was more for Jeff and his family."

Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were filming in Worcester, Mass., which is about 40 miles outside of Boston, when Monday's events took place. Their shooting schedule, however, was not disrupted.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Boston as today's situation unfolds.
