Well this is an all-time low.

The Wanted's Nathan Sykes will undergo specialized throat surgery Thursday in L.A. This means, unfortunately, the boy-bander "will be taking unforeseen hiatus from band."

In a statement Wednesday, the group pointed out that "the priority for Nathan, his label and management is that he is given time to recover and receive the best treatment possible."

The remaining four members of The Wanted—Siva Kaneswaran, Max George, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker—will continue fulfilling the promotional commitments across the world.

On Tuesday, Nathan tweeted simply, "gutted." He also thanked Global Media's Ashley Tabor for his support, explaining he was "Gonna try and stay as positive as much as I can :)"

Sending him lots of love and light for a successful surgery and quick recovery!

The Wanted's new reality show, The Wanted Life, premieres Sunday, June 2, on E!
