The impact of Tuesday's tragic Boston Marathon bombings is being felt around the world.

But Sunday's London Marathon is still going to happen despite increased security fears, and Prince Harry, who is set to present medals at the event, is still on the slate to attend.

"We fully expect that Sunday's race, registration and associated events will go ahead as originally scheduled," event organizers confirmed in a Facebook post, noting that they "are currently reviewing all our security arrangements with the Metropolitan Police and we will post the latest information on all the events through Twitter, Facebook and emails."

A palace spokesperson told E! News,  "We announced last week that Prince Harry would attend this year's London marathon in his capacity as Patron of the London Marathon Charitable Trust, and that he would make the presentations to the winners and meet a selection of volunteer and support staff. As things stand we are not aware of any changes to that plan but ultimately we will be directed by the Race organizers."

Although NHL and NBA games were canceled in the wake of Monday's tragedy, it's uplifting to see the resilience of athletes around the world. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all those affected by this tragedy.
