Actor Jason Segelhas revealed that he's added a new line to his résumé—author.

The How I Met Your Mother star shared during a Q&A following a screening of his 2008 film, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, at the Jacob Burns Film Center in New York on Thursday night that he actually penned a series of three young adult novels based off of a script he originally wrote when he was 21, according to VH1

But Segel had sold the script for "super cheap" because he "didn't know any better" back then (doh!).

However, the work never went anywhere, and the star said, "As I got more successful, I kept hoping they (film developers) wouldn't realize I was the same Jason Segel as the Jason Segel they bought the script from (before he became famous)." Luckily, they didn't, and eight years later, the funnyman and occasional puppeteer was able to buy the work back for the same price he sold it.

Segel wouldn't dish a lot of deets about the trilogy (no character talk or a title being thrown out there), but he did mention, "It's about kids facing their biggest fears, that's about all I can tell you."

He added that there's currently a "bidding war" between publishing houses and that he expects it to be released later this year.
