Theatergoers, take note: Do not disrupt a James McAvoy performance.

The 33-year-old thesp halted a production of Macbeth at the Trafalgar Studios in London's West End after he spotted an audience member recording him with a mobile phone during show, The Telegraph reports.

Stepping out of character as the murderous Scottish king, the actor reportedly shouted at the man to stop filming, drawing attention to the cell phone gaffe. "The poor fellow looked very embarrassed," an eyewitness told the news site.

Trafalgar Studios also released a statement in regards to McAvoy's reported outburst: "An audience member was caught filming by the actor James McAvoy. The filming disrupted the production of Macbeth, forcing James McAvoy to respond to audience member by asking them to stop filming immediately. The production then continued as planned once the camera was put away."

This isn't the first time McAvoy has abruptly stopped mid-Macbeth. Just three weeks ago, the X Men: First Class star paused during his performance to help a collapsed audience member.

Can't blame the star for wanting to perform in peace.
